stuck songs = dad edition

my baby - blake shelton. I hat most country music but this song was played at my grandfather’s funeral for my mom and I cried hard. I have a daughter and it’s lyrics are ridiculously maudlin but true.

cat’s in the cradle - Harry Neilson. still gets me every time. Good songwriting does that.

Good Girls Don’t - The Knack. Makes me sweat esp since I now have a teenager.

Stuck Songs - Dad Edition

These are the songs that are chronically stuck in my head for no other reason than I have a son.

• The Theme to “Love Story” because it’s the song in his dancing lady bug music box. It gets more playtime than everything else put together.
• Elmo’s Song. We got him an Elmo toy for Chrimmus. I now want to lobotomize myself.
• Bach’s Partita for Violin Solo No.2 in D minor, BWV 1004 - 1. Allemande because it’s the first song that’s played each night during the bedtime routine.
